I have found #49 & #50 Pattern Making Files to be very useful in fitting mortice and tenon as well as dovetail joints. The files cut quickly, provide a good surface for glueing, and give greater control than sandpaper. I purchased the subject files at Rockler Woodworking & Hardware Co.

No personal or business connection to Rockler Hardware.
