I recently completed Bartley's Scrolled Top Mirror #0413 in curly maple. This is a beautiful colonial piece, with nice curly maple features. I finished the piece with Moser's Lt Brown Walnut Aliline Dye, Bartley's gel wiping varnish, steel wool and wax.
The following notes apply:
>>> I water treated and sanded all pieces before assemble
>>> I assembled the kit in accordance with the kit instructions
>>> My finishing steps were as described in my recent posting on American Lowboys #0118
This is a beautiful little colonial piece, and an excellent starter kit for one who has not built a Bartley's kit or worked with curly maple and aniline dye. It will take a treasured place in one of our guest bedrooms in our home in Hancock, NH.
